Why LandCare?

LandCare is a democratic approach to community development with three goals:

  • Increase the incomes of the citizens
  • Improve community services and amenities
  • Protect the resources upon which our lives depend--our food, water and air.

We're making sure that our great, great grandchildren have the same quality of food, water and air as we do while we remain secure with an acceptable lifestyle.

There is also an ethic of civility underlying the LandCare concept that requires us to be open and honest in our dealings with each other, willing to listen to other points of view, and to seek expert guidance when in doubt.

We wish to be well-informed. We wish to understand the cause and consequences of the events in our daily lives.

We focus on practical projects involving local people, local issues and local resources.  In the end, we decide our future and live with the results.  LandCare is a community working together.

"With appreciation of our past and awareness of our present, we can create a safe, sane future."
